Aaron Kirunda
Aaron grew up in abject poverty. He was lucky to have an education and experience its transforming power, while many of his childhood friends dropped out – a trend that continues to date. This fuels his passion to transform Uganda's education system. To-date enjuba has reached 2.1m children across the country through spelling bees, distribution of books to children and libraries and through early childhood education. Aaron is a graduate of the London School Economics and a fellow of MIT’s Global Start-up Workshops, LSE’s Program for African Leadership and Acumen. He was recently named an African Visionary Fellow and one of the 40 people under 40 Ugandans making a difference. He is also a recipient of the Digital Innovation and Inclusion Award. He lives in kampala with his wife and four children.

Laura Clifford
Laura is originally from Dublin, Ireland, where her journey as a teacher began in Montessori education. With a 20-year career spanning across different countries, Laura had the unique opportunity to immerse herself in a vast range of teaching philosophies, diverse socio-economic populations and interdisciplinary collaborations. Driven by the vision of high-quality early education for all children, Laura transitioned into special education, bridging her Montessori-inspired approach to the public-school sector. Laura is also the Co-founder of Mended Little Hearts of Boston, a non-profit organization that works with Boston Children's Hospital supporting families of children born with congenital heart defects. She lives in Watertown, Massachusetts with her husband and two sons.
