The enjuba Spelling Bee is back, bigger, bolder, and more exciting than ever!
As Uganda’s premier spelling competition, the Spelling Bee isn’t just about spelling words—it’s about building confidence, fostering a love for reading, and nurturing future leaders through the power of language.
Since 2013, enjuba has impacted over 2 million children, with 90% of participants transitioning to secondary school and contributing to an 11% national reduction in school dropouts. Click here to register.
How the Enjuba Spelling Bee Works
The competition follows a structured journey from classroom to national stage:
School-Level Bees
- Teachers conduct in-class spelling activities using the CREED values (Character, Responsibility, Excellence, Empathy, Discipline).
- Schools then host their own School Spelling Bees, where winners advance to the next level.
District/Regional Competitions
- Top spellers from schools compete at district levels, with words increasing in difficulty each round.
National Spelling Bee
- The best spellers from across Uganda battle for the title of National Champion, earning the chance to represent Uganda at the African Spelling Bee!
Who Can Participate?
- Primary school students (Ages 9-12)
- Schools must register their teachers/spellers
- Parents can also register their children as individual spellers
