What to Expect at the 13th Bee

· Spelling Bee,education

The countdown is on!
On 25th October 2025, the National Spelling Bee returns. Bigger, bolder, and buzzing with excitement. Hosted at the Kampala Serena Hotel, this year’s Grand Finale brings together 167 young spellers from 15 districts across Uganda, all ready to take the stage and compete for the national crown.

But the Bee is more than just a competition. It’s a celebration of words, confidence, and the incredible potential of Uganda’s children.

A Stage for Champions

The Spelling Bee is the culmination of months of district-level competitions held across Uganda, from Jinja and Mbale in the east to Masaka, Mbarara, and Bushenyi in the west. Each child who made it here has already proven themselves a champion at the district level. At the Grand Finale, they’ll spell their way through multiple rounds, testing not only their memory and mastery of words but also their calm under pressure.

Expect moments of laughter, suspense, and inspiration as these young minds rise to the challenge, letter by letter.

Beyond Spelling: A Celebration of Learning

This year’s Bee goes beyond the spelling rounds. Attendees can look forward to an exciting mix of spelling, vocabulary, and word meaning challenges, all designed to highlight comprehension and critical thinking.

You’ll also get to hear from guest speakers sharing reflections on the power of literacy and the role of education in shaping Uganda’s future. Each segment of the event celebrates not just who can spell the longest word, but who can think, learn, and express with confidence.

Why It Matters

At enjuba, we believe literacy changes lives. Through programs like the Spelling Bee, we aim to ensure that 80% of Ugandan children can read and write by 2035. The Bee helps children build confidence, vocabulary, and communication skills — skills that extend far beyond the stage.

Every word spelled correctly is a small step toward a future where every child has the tools to dream, learn, and thrive.

See You at Serena!

The 2025 National Spelling Bee promises a day full of talent, learning, and joy. Bring your curiosity, your cheering spirit, and maybe even your dictionary. You will definitely learn a new word or two!
